Time-Warp?

As the summer holidays started, Heishiro was already dreaming of the many hours of sleep that lay before him as he walked home in the bright mid-day sunlight. With the exception of the few fights against Hollow's he was expecting, Heishiro was ready and prepped to spend the next couple of days in his bed with no thought towards moving.

As he walked home, he was still lost in thought when he heard a sound of compressed air going off and a net shooting at him. He had enough time to shout out before he was snared and lost consciousness as he bashed his head on the pavement falling down.

Groaning, Heishiro opened his eyes to bright sunlight over his head. The faint sound of crickets and birds in the background as he sat upright. He rubbed his eyes to clear them while he tried to remember what happened. He felt on his head and found a cap perched on top of it. He blinked, patting his clothes to check before muttering curse-words to himself. He was in his Shinigami form, which meant that after being knocked out he'd either died (hopefully not) or something had happened to throw him out of his body.

Getting to his feet, Heishiro adjusted the sword slung across his back and checked his hat carefully before starting to wander down towards the buildings in the distance.

This place seemed kind of strange, everyone was wearing traditional clothing which only made him stand out MORE. And the houses too... as he approached he found everything looked like the Meiji period he'd been learning about in school. Everyone wore simple clothes, children played in the street, wooden boards and white flags over the shop-fronts... It couldn't be

"Did I... time-travel?" He asked the open air, as the streets of Rukongai thronged around him. He looked out of place in his tight fitting black clothes but the people around him seemed to be giving him a wide-berth, though he had next to no idea why. Dawdling through the streets, he scanned for something to give him some idea where he was.

He saw a sign with the numbers 53 written on it which only compounded his confusion. 53rd? 53rd what?

Fortunately or unfortunately Ito's massive reiatsu appears before Ito himself even more than Heishiro he stood out among the others wearing full shinigami attire though much different in that his was tattered badly and stained with blood. Even the Haori he wore carried a broken armband on it that was just as bloodstained and damaged.At his side was his Zanpakutou covered with a crude sheath and it also gave off reiatsu.

Ito stops and looks around before turning his attention to Heishiro, Of course Ito with no knowledge of the modern world wouldn't know it but all of the Shinsengumi where famous and he was no exception his face in thousands of textbooks. He stops in front of Heishiro standing at almost 7 feet tall. "Well, I don't know who you are, but you seem lost," Ito says his eyes staring at the youth like daggers.

Of course the biggest question was could the boy even understand Ito's ancient Japanese much less the equally ancient dialect of it. Ito patiently waits for a response his arms folded across his chest and relatively laid back despite his attire and looks.

The huge guy with the poorly sheathed sword gave Heishiro a bad feeling, maybe it was his constantly emanating Reihatsu or just that he looked really, really scary, but it made him uncomfortable. He didn't seem to be as pressured by the waves of Reihatsu as the citizens who were now fleeing to avoid the terrible pressure. His own Reihatsu was pretty powerful, but sealed into his Zanpakuto making him appear far weaker. Even then, he didn't really want to fight this guy.

"Are you from Osaka?" Heishiro asked, completely mis-interpreting the accent of ancient japanese for Kansai-ban. Peeking his cap to get a better look at his face, he saw some odd resemblance between him and Heihachi. Not so much in features but demeanour and attitude. He also looked familiar but he couldn't remember where from. Shrugging off these weird doubts, Heishiro decided to tell the truth

"I think I've travelled back in time. Hey, wait a second..." It wasn't his face that looked like Heihachi it was his clothes "Shinigami! Your a Shinigami! Ohhhh, this is Soul Society... why does it look like feudal Japan?" This last question was more to himself than anything else. He would've thought if someone from the present died the first thing they'd do would be to re-invent electricity. But evidently this was not the case. He spotted one kid hiding behind a door-frame, shivering and sweating.

Frowning slightly, Heishiro started walking out of the village, still looking at the big scary Shinigami but hopefully leading him away from the 'close to passing out' villagers.

"So, how do I get back to the Human World?" Heishiro half shouted. Though unintentional, his backing away gave the impression he was being smothered by Ito's Reihatsu (the appropriate reaction for a normal Shinigami, you'd imagine)

Ito laughs and rubs the back of his head "No idea kid, I've been dead for nearly 500 years and never been to the human world since," Ito says after giving a bit of thought his voice and speech becoming somewhat more modern but still filled with ancient outdated wordings. Shifting slightly and pulling out a odd sharp implement he sticks it into his arm like a needle causing his Reiatsu to vanish entirely.

"Research division has so many useful trinkets,Well this place looks like feudal japan because its run the same and mostly people from that age or older live here, Now while you certainly aren't a shinigami from here would you know any that may live here, but according to the rules I do have to bring you before at least one other captain and report you for being in soul society without escort from there your fate may vary," Ito says while following Heishiro calmly.


Ito eyes narrow as he watches Heishiro before speaking again " My name is Masahi, Ito Sengo residing captain of squad 11, of the Gotei 13, so whats yours kid?" he says speaking bluntly and to the point before ending with a polite yet crude question for the kid's name.

Noticing the sudden absence of Reihatsu from the other Shinigami, Heishiro was slightly relieved. Looked like the kids in this district might not be crushed to death with Spiritual Pressure by accident. But the intense output was still cause for concern, he clearly had a lot of power hidden in that body. That and his calm manners just seemed out of place for a pretty intimidating looking man.

"Uhhh, right... I don't really feel like going to meet any more Captains or... whatever. I'm just planning on going home. I've never even met other Shinigamis, I just want to protect my home when neccessary and enjoy my summer vacation" He mentally added, 'by sleeping through the entire thing'

He seemed to be lacking focus as he only just remembered the introduction that had just gone by and that not responding quickly might be a bit rude.

"I'm Azuchi, Azuchi Heishiro. Nice to meet you Sengo-san. Now, can I go and find some way home?" Heishiro had no objection to being in Soul Society, or following their rules, but this all sounded like a lot of effort for no real gain. He was starting to think Heihachi may have been messing with him when he said he'd learn a lot in Soul Society. All he'd seen so far was the Shinigami here were way older, way scarier and the people didn't believe in TV.

Still, at least it seemed his sword didn't look all that weird, Ito's was definitely weirder, why was it so long? Maybe he shouldn't be staring at it..

Ito notices the staring and unsheathes the Zanpakutou resting it point first on the ground though the point hung a a bit above the ground held up by a invisible part of the blade. "Well since your seemingly curious this is my Zanpakutou, its already in shikai as I'm to lazy to care to seal it much less learn enough reiatsu control to do so," Ito says laughing softly. The overall length of it despite the visible blade was a nodachi.

"Well you still have to meet with at least another captain after all rules are rules and unless you kill the big wigs I'm a loyal dog to those rules to a extent, besides you'll need a lieutenant or captain to open a Senkaimon for you to use in order to go home, I however can't use kidou so there no way for me to open such gate,"Ito says bluntly not really sure how to react to the constant questions.

Ito rubs the back of his head "I think though once your approved to come and go here, You can visit the other squads and learn some stuff though I warn you to avoid my squad barracks if you don't like fighting since that is all squad 11 does is fight, I'm their captain of course but I'm a little more sensible, being a former samurai during the segihara and bakumatsu wars in the service of the emperor as a shinsengumi captain," it says giving Azuchi fair warning before hand on the most dangerous squad.

"So do you happen to know any shinigami who live here so I can inform them later or anyone else that may have died I can probably find them and pass on the message, after all I'm just killing time and avoiding paper work," Ito says and laughs softly getting a excuse to avoid paper work was always something that he enjoyed.

Making a note not to stare in future, Heishiro idly wondered why he held the blade so high off the ground like that. Probably just keeping it clean, he guessed.

Heishiro's face fell in disapointment, however, at the news about returning home. So he HAD to go and talk to another Captain in order to go home... but still, this Ito seemed an interesting guy. And despite his earlier doubts, he was actually learning a lot just in this conversation, about the 11th Division and this guy who seemed to be more important than he'd initially thought

"Shinsengumi? I think I saw a drama about you guys... are you related to Kashitaro Ito? Or... were? What's the right tense for that?" Heishiro drifted off into his thoughts again, trying not to think about how cool it was that he was talking to a real member of the Shinsengumi! He wondered if he could meet any of the deceased Emperor's here. That'd probably be a little weird for them... but interesting. But on the other hand... that'd be crazy boring to have to look around for them. Maybe he'd just wander around and see if anyone came to him.

But for now, he may as well try and be helpful, after all, Ito seemed pretty nice despite looking absolutely terrifying

"I don't really know ANY Shinigami at all. There's Heihachi-sensei, but he lost his powers transferring them to me..." Heishiro didn't know if that was serious or not so cleared his throat and continued "but equally I've only been at this a few months, I managed to get the hang of making my Zanpakuto look different... Shikai? I think? Anyhow, if you wanna avoid paperwork I could not go with you and we could just sit around eating Dango. We can trade stories! I'll tell you about the Human World and you can tell me about Soul Society! Whaddaya say Ito-san?" Heishiro decided that Sengo didn't feel... like a name he should be calling Ito.

"Ito is just my given name, Sengo was my first masters name my family name is Masahi but I rarely use it," Ito says and rubs the side of his face. "Well aside from him being a friend of Hijikata and Kondou I don't know much about him, I usually hung out with Soujiro and the other more rag tag members,"Ito says with a smile that made him look absolutely vicious.

Ito thinks to himself for a moment "Its rare for feudal japan rulers and samurai to end up in soul society as most commit numerous crimes in the name of unity and their lord, I'm here by sheer dumb luck being I wasn't given soul burial but dragged here forcefully by one of the previous squad 11 members,"Ito says laughing finding his escape from hell both amusing and humorous.

"That could be a serious issue best not to mention it to much until you can explain it properly to a higher up, still you'll lose the transferred powers eventually unless you awake your own afterwards, Zanpakutou have 3 states sealed,shikai, bankai though in most cases,"He replies answering the questions asked without much issue.

"My weapon is always in shikai I'm to lazy to seal it and can't control my reiatsu enough to bother doing it safely anyways,Bankai is the next step it involves building any kind of deep bond with your Zanpakutou spirit and then completing the test it gives you, My Zanpakutou's spiritual bond with me is one of mutual destruction the task it gave me was to defeat it without weapons and a few other things,"Ito explains not sure if it made sense but it was what he could make of it.

Ito sheathes his blade silently and looks at the sky for a moment "However in my research and prying at my Zanpakutou's spirit there are two states above Bankai one is fusing with your weapon on a spiritual scale, and the other is ascension or learning the fullest secrets of the shinigami and be able to exist on a higher plane but its possible that's just a myth," Ito adds rather amused that someone actually wanted his advice for something.


Ito begins walking again before stopping at a rundown looking house "Hey you have two customers, a batch of dango if you would," he says after opening the door. Of course the damaged sign over the door read simply dango shop despite being a normal house.

Heishiro seemed to think about this complicated naming business, he didn't want to ask why he took his master's name, he remembered it being a not uncommon practice
"So, Sengo-san would be the most respectful?" Heishiro wasn't particularly polite, but he had pretty standard Japanese manners. He was used to pretty much everyone calling him Azuchi except his parents and that one overly friendly guy in school. "Seems appropriate since you're a Captain"

Listening as patiently and politely as he could, Heishiro tried to take notes on how bad people went to hell and how he was supposed to learn Bankai after Shikai and that there were stages after that
"Ahhh man, it took me like 3 months just to learn Shikai, this'll take forever" it was probably a good thing he didn't know the standard time was probably closer to 300 years. He saw a slight flicker of amusement on Ito's face and smiled to himself. He wasn't actually a bad-guy at all, even if his face was terrifying.

As they approached the Dango shop, Heishiro sub-consciously sat down and reached for a cup of Green Tea. Ito took care of the ordering as the shop-owner hurried out, his balding head and bare-feet heralding his appearance as he thrust out the tray with shivering, slightly terrified hands.

Heishiro gently took the tray off him and thanked him, as the man retreated. Looked like Ito still scared some of the locals even like this. Heishiro looked quizically at the pink, white and green arrangement of the Dango before him
"Hanami Dango? Huh, is it Sakura season in Soul Society?"
Picking up one of the skewers, Heishiro chomped off two of the three rice-flour balls and started chewing with a contented smile on his face.

"OK, so," he swallowed quickly to allow for talking "The Human World's gotten advanced now, but Hollows and Shinigami still aren't common knowledge. Which means I have to do all my stuff in secret. One weird thing happened though, I kinda fought this weird guy with Reihatsu but he looked kinda like a cat? When I beat him he sorta evaporated rather than leaving a corpse which was handy but weird. I dunno if that's just a problem in the human world though."

Swallowing some more Dango, Heishiro continued after a brief pause for thought
"Man, I'm not looking forward to explaining how I'm here to another Captain... are there any who might be cool with me being a fake?" Heishiro was aware Ito had said he'd lose his powers eventually but Heihachi seemed to think they were permanant. Like his Quincy blood had somehow fused him to Heihachi's ability.

"Depends on who you talk to anyone who is friendly towards me would be the best you to speak with, he's a shinigami noble of sorts but he's a good person and the rookie captain in gotei 13,"Ito says sitting back relaxed and rather open. Ito props his feet up on a empty chair "Well the time it takes to learn stuff is varied, I didn't really learn my shikai it just sorta came to me this way same with bankai after doing a hellish test of course for my zanpakutou's spirit.

"You mean a saint beast that usually common when a spirit being is killed they vanish and return to the circle of life, the only exception to this currently that I'm aware is humans with special powers, Quincy and saint beasts they simply destroy the being entirely instead of putting it back into the wheel of fate,"Ito says though is tone didn't really have much a opinion on any of those matters.

Ito thinks quietly for a bit as he listened to what Heishiro had to say but does speak one more time "Don't worry to much about the people here they are nice enough though with all the thugs that roam the districts beyond 40 most of them are always a nervous wreck, I try to help them when I can but my looks don't help much they caused the same issue in my human life might have been why I was killed in my sleep by my wife"He says keeping his tone cordial though laughing slightly trying to keep a serious conversation about his death far away.

Of course Ito sets a bag of coins on the table along with two platinum looking coins fished from his haori while tossing a gold one to Heishiro. "On a side note have you received any payment for your hollow hunting, if not then show that to Heihachi later and hope he doesn't die of shock since that is a captain's weekly salary on average," Ito says giving a soft laugh of course inside the bag was hundreds of coins just like the one he just gave Heishiro.

"I think that coin can be converted into human world money but I'm not to familiar with the shops that have been set up by shinigami there, Heihachi might know more on that since he's been hanging around the human world long enough,"He says thinking for a moment.
